A disappointing barrier result or a sealing problem rarely has a useful answer on the data sheet alone. We look at the available structure, test and process information to identify plausible explanations and the data needed to check them.

We can address one question or stay involved as development continues. In either case, we agree the priorities and written output before starting.

We agree each stage, its written output and fee before work starts. Longer projects can continue as new test results arrive.

    Define the problem

    We set the product, pack, process, performance target and what has already been tried.

  2. 02

    Develop possible routes

    We examine materials, structures, coatings or process changes that may address the issue, using available technical data.

  3. 03

    Review feasibility

    Peter checks the proposed routes against the packaging application. We identify supplier information and test conditions needed to evaluate them.

  4. 04

    Write the next brief

    You receive a development note setting out the promising routes, open risks and questions for the next supplier discussion or trial.

Your decision point: decide whether to test, revise or stop before commissioning the next stage. Your team and appointed specialists conduct laboratory and production trials. We can review the results in a separately agreed stage.

Peter brings 40+ years of experience in food packaging. We work from your application and available data, with agreed priorities, output and fee. Limited blocks of support are available for development work that continues over several questions.
